How to Fix Issues with SBOMs and Parts Lists
Common Solutions for Managing and Updating SBOMs and Master Parts Lists.

Removing Child Parts from SBOM
To remove child parts from an SBOM, follow these steps:
Delete the unwanted part rows from the spreadsheet(s).
Refresh
the BOMs page in
Zea Sync
and ensure that the parts are removed from the preview.
Click the
Synchronize
button to update the platform with the changes.
⚠️ Note:
Only child parts are removed from the current SBOM. Service parts remain in the database as they may be used in other SBOMs.
Adding New Optional Fields
To add new fields to the Master Parts List or SBOM, follow these steps:
Map the fields in
Zea Sync
using the instructions in
Mapping Optional Fields
Click the
Synchronize
button to update the platform with the changes.
⚠️ Note:
Fields cannot be removed using the same method; however, they can be set to
Private
,
which will hide them from the public.
Updating Optional Field Mapping
If fields have been mapped incorrectly (e.g. languages have been mixed up), you can swap the mapping as follows.
Update the Imported Field mapping in
Zea Sync
.
Click the
Synchronize
button to update the platform with the changes.
Clearing All Service Part and/or Serial Number Data
These are expert-level options that
cannot be undone
. Please use with caution.
To completely clear all service part and/or serial number data from Zea Parts, follow these steps.
Click the
Settings
button in the top-right of Zea Parts.
Select the
Advanced
tab.
Click the
Hide Danger Zone
button.
Click the
Clear Service Parts
or Click
Serial Numbers
buttons
