Overview

Use measurement tools to check distances, angles, radii, and center distances in the 3D Models Editor. Click on geometry to get instant visual feedback. All measurements are temporary and will disappear when the browser tab is closed.

General Controls

Press Esc to cancel the current measurement.
Hold Alt to move the camera while measuring.
Measurements are accessible through the main Create menu.

Measure Distance

Select Measure Distance from the Measurements menu.
Click on a planar surface or a linear line segment.
Hold Alt to rotate the camera so you can see the opposing surface you want to measure the distance to.
Click on the second planar surface or a linear line segment.
Note: the surfaces should be parallel to provide an accurate measurement.
Note: the initial clicked point may be adjusted to ensure the measurement is orthogonal to both surfaces.
A distance line will appear showing the measured length.

Measure Radius

Select Measure Radius from the Measurements menu.
Click on a curved or circular surface or edge.
The radius will be displayed at the center of the geometry.

Measure Center Distance

Select Measure Center Distance from the Measurements menu.
Click on a cylindrical, conical, toroidal or circular surface or edge to place a starting marker.
Click on a second cylindrical, conical, toroidal or circular surface or edge.
A line will appear showing the distance between their center axes.

Measure Angle

Select Measure Angle from the Measurements menu.
Click on a planar, conic, or cylindrical surface
Click on a second planar, conic, or cylindrical surface.
Note: the exact location of the initial marker will be adjusted to ensure an accurate measurment.
The angle between them will be displayed.
