Highlights

Configurators (New):

Zea now supports creating 3D Configurator Projects that let customers interact with assemblies, materials, and configurations inside an embedded 3D viewer. The Configurator Editor defines which parts, materials, and views are toggleable, while the Zea API connects that setup to your own user interface.

Also new in this release:
Teams and Shopping Carts for authenticated parts catalogs.
Public Access toggle in Settings → Publish for controlling catalog visibility.
One-Time Password authentication and organization-level API Keys for secure integrations.
Multiple security improvements, including:
Your 3D files and attachments are now secured behind private, pre-signed URLs that regenerate with each request and expire after one hour, preventing unauthorized access to your most valuable digital assets.
More granular and detailed authorization across the entire platform.
All pages and endpoints are now private by default.
And many more enhancements.

Features

3D Models

Invert Selection: Added the I keyboard shortcut in the 3D Models Editor to invert the current selection. Also available in the Illustrations Editor.
Hide/Show Shortcut: The H shortcut now behaves consistently with the Illustrations Editor.

Parts

Teams: Added authenticated Teams for shared access to catalogs.
Each team includes Admins (who can manage members) and Technicians (who can add or remove parts from carts).
Teams are created and managed in the Teams tab under Parts.
Authentication is now required by default when Public Access is off.

Shopping Carts: Introduced shared team shopping carts for managing part orders.
Each cart belongs to a team and can be viewed by all team members.
Carts include Open and Placed states, and all data is now stored in the database for persistence and history tracking.
Full cart history can be viewed in the Teams or Shopping Cart tab.
Public Access Option: Added a new Public Access toggle in Settings → Publish that allows catalogs to be shared publicly without requiring authentication. When Public Access is off, users must log in and belong to a team to access the catalog.
Authentication by Default: New catalogs now have authentication required by default, replacing domain whitelisting with a proper authentication system.
Preview Button Moved: The Preview button has been moved from Settings to the main Parts screen for easier access.

Illustrations

Camera Interpolation: Improved to prevent clipping when moving between close-zoomed views.
Callout Visibility: Callouts are no longer visible by default. They now create a keyframe on the view they are placed on and on any subsequent views when View Interpolation is set to Incremental.

Configurator (New)

Dynamic Part Loading: Automatically loads parts and assemblies based on Option Tags.
Material Color Change: Supports real-time material color adjustments.
Configuration Switching: Allows toggling between CAD-level configurations.
Zea API Integration: Added postMessage API for embedding and controlling configurators from external applications.

Platform

Security Improvements: Secured API endpoints now require authentication and removed public access to database endpoints.
Authentication Update: Replaced Magic Links with a one-time password login across the platform and Zea Sync.
API Keys: Added organization-level API keys for securely connecting external integrations such as Configurators.
Email-Password Login Removed: Deprecated legacy email-password authentication.
